WPShift — servers
Cloud servers for WordPress, on any provider.
A WordPress cloud server on WPShift is a Linux machine the platform provisions and operates for you, with Nginx, PHP, MySQL or PostgreSQL, and Redis installed and tuned for WordPress the moment it comes online. You can run it on WPShift Cloud with no separate cloud account and one bill direct from us, or connect your own DigitalOcean, Hetzner, Vultr, Linode, AWS EC2 or Google Cloud account, or any SSH-reachable Linux server you already operate. It is built for agencies, freelancers and operators who want managed-host comfort without giving up their own infrastructure. Pricing is per plan, not per feature: Personal (€5.99/mo) manages 1 server, Professional (€14.99/mo) manages 5, Agency (€29.99/mo) is unlimited. Third-party server costs are billed by your provider, from around €5/mo at Hetzner.
One provisioning flow, six clouds and your own metal.
Server management is where most WordPress platforms make you choose: either a generic provisioner that stops at the OS, or a managed host that hides the machine entirely. WPShift keeps the dashboard comfort and hands you the keys. The same provisioning runs identically across every supported provider, so switching later is a clone, not a rebuild.
Connecting a third-party cloud takes one API token. Pick the smallest droplet you would normally run WordPress on and the platform brings it under management within minutes. There is nothing to compile, no role files to maintain, and the same provisioning runs identically across every supported provider.
Switching providers later does not lock you in. Sites can be moved server-to-server with the cloning tool, no rebuild required. That matters when a client outgrows a small droplet, or when a provider price change makes the move worth it.
Prefer no cloud account at all? WPShift Cloud is billed directly through us with no API key to set up. Server hours are metered against your subscription, so you add capacity without ripping up a plan.
What you get.
WPShift Cloud, or bring your own
Run on WPShift Cloud with no separate cloud account and one bill direct from us. Or connect DigitalOcean, Hetzner, Vultr, Linode, AWS EC2, Google Cloud, or any SSH-reachable Linux server you already operate.
Automated stack install
Nginx, PHP, MySQL or PostgreSQL, and Redis installed and tuned automatically when a server is provisioned. No manual configuration, no shell required.
Multiple PHP versions
Run several PHP versions side by side on the same server, from 7.4 onward. Pick a default per site and a separate default for the CLI.
SSH keys, firewall, remote commands
Generate and rotate SSH keys, edit inbound and outbound firewall rules, and run remote commands from inside the platform.
MySQL and PostgreSQL databases
Create databases of either kind, manage users and passwords, and adjust privileges without touching a console. Each site gets its own database and user by default.
Cron jobs and live logs
Create, edit and tail per-server cron jobs with next-run times and execution history. View Nginx, PHP, MySQL and system logs with search, filters and live tailing.
Operate the box without opening a terminal.
Push an SSH key to one server or fan it out across several, then revoke it cleanly when a teammate leaves. Inbound and outbound firewall rules live in the dashboard, and the remote command runner replays output inline, so you do not need a separate terminal for one-off tasks.
CPU, memory, disk usage, inodes and per-interface network are charted live with historical retention, so a slow leak is visible before it becomes an incident. Logs are viewable in-app with grep-style filters and live tailing, the same workflow as tail -f without the SSH session.
Cron jobs get the same treatment. Add an entry with a human-readable schedule, target a specific PHP version, and see the next run time as soon as you save. Past executions are kept with output captured, so you can confirm a backup ran without logging into the box.
Who it’s for.
From a first droplet to a fleet of client servers.
- 01
Agencies
Run a mixed fleet, one client on Hetzner, another on AWS, a third on WPShift Cloud, from one dashboard, with identical provisioning everywhere.
- 02
Freelancers
Keep the cheap droplet you already pay for and get the managed-host workflow on top. No migration to someone else’s infrastructure.
- 03
Teams with non-developers
The firewall, cron and log screens replace the terminal, so a project manager can check whether a job ran without asking a developer for SSH access.
How it works.
- 01
Pick where it runs
Choose WPShift Cloud and skip the cloud account entirely, or connect a third-party provider. Connecting a cloud takes one API token.
- 02
Deploy a server
Pick a region and size, the smallest droplet you would normally run WordPress on is fine. The platform brings it under management within minutes.
- 03
The stack goes on automatically
Nginx, PHP, MySQL or PostgreSQL, and Redis are installed in the right order with defaults tuned for WordPress workloads: open file limits, worker counts, FPM pool sizing.
- 04
Operate from the dashboard
Live charts, logs, cron, firewall rules and remote commands all live in the panel. Health and uptime status is on every page.
How it’s priced.
Every server feature is on every plan. Plans only set how many servers you can manage.
See all plans and pricing- Personal (€5.99/mo) manages 1 server, Professional (€14.99/mo) manages 5, Agency (€29.99/mo) is unlimited. Prices ex VAT.
- Third-party server costs are not included: you pay your provider directly, from around €5/mo at Hetzner or around $6/mo at DigitalOcean.
- WPShift Cloud servers are metered and billed with your subscription, one invoice, no separate cloud account.
- The 7-day free trial runs on full Professional features, no credit card required.
Questions, answered.
Do I need a cloud account to start?
No. WPShift Cloud is billed directly through us with no API key to set up. If you prefer your own provider, connecting DigitalOcean, Hetzner, Vultr, Linode, AWS EC2 or Google Cloud takes one API token.
Which providers are supported?
DigitalOcean, Hetzner, Vultr, Linode, AWS EC2 and Google Cloud, plus any SSH-reachable Linux server you already operate, and WPShift Cloud itself.
How is WPShift different from Forge and Ploi?
Forge and Ploi are excellent for Laravel and generic PHP, but they treat WordPress as just another PHP app. WPShift adds WordPress-aware site creation, plugin and theme management, integrated email and DNS, without a learning curve for non-developers.
Can I move a site to a different server later?
Yes. The cloning tool moves sites server-to-server with files and database, no rebuild required, so switching providers or resizing does not lock you in.
Can I run more than one PHP version?
Yes. Every PHP version from 7.4 onward can sit side by side, each with its own FPM pool and ini file. Set 8.3 as the site default while leaving the CLI on 8.1 for a legacy WP-CLI script.
What does the server itself cost?
That depends on your provider, third-party servers start around €5/mo at Hetzner or $6/mo at DigitalOcean and are billed by them. WPShift charges only for the management layer, from €5.99/mo.
